RHYTHMIK 100 Hellerau
International Rhythmics Workshop DALCROZE 2011
1 to 4 September 2011 at the Festspielhaus Hellerau
Ever since the laying of the cornerstone of the Festspielhaus, on April 22, 1911, in Hellerau near Dresden a hundred years of changeful history have passed. Shaped by „Dalcroze and the others“, the Festspielhaus Hellerau offered an international Forum for spectacular, artistic ideas during its prime from 1911 to 1914. The gymnastics and rhythmics schools in Hellerau have left their mark worldwide. Hundreds of students gained a rhythmics diploma or a gymnastics training in Hellerau and went on to translate these principles into dance, theater, pedagogy and therapy. On the occasion of the jubilee, the challenge will be to explore this eventful period starting from 1911 until the present of a united Europe in order to set new impulses.
RHYTHMIK 100 Hellerau offers a forum for exchange, information and presentation. Workshops with international rhythmics teachers will be held within the framework of the festival as well a performance on the Appia stage, the first release of several compositions works, a World Rhythmic Café® and an exhibition dealing with “Appia, Dalcroze, Le Corbusier und die Anderen”. Next to the international rhythmics training schools, several primary schools and kindergartens from Dresden will also present themselves with the rhythmics project „Einen Stern für jedes Kind / A star for every child“.
